Why the Joovy Groove Ultralight Stands Out

Before delving into all the commendable features of the Groove, it's worth noting that after having four kids, we've tested numerous strollers over the past decade. In fact, our garage has morphed into a baby stroller storage due to our inability to part with any of them (except the very first one because it broke), much to my husband’s dismay.

That being said, I feel quite confident telling you why this stroller is exceptional and why it ranks among the best umbrella strollers for tall individuals (for context, while I am not tall, my husband is, and he refuses to use a stroller that forces him to hunch over—it’s non-negotiable).

The Joovy Groove Ultralight even accompanied us on our recent vacation to Florida. We visited SIX theme parks, and this stroller proved to be incredibly easy to maneuver, passing the ultimate test for one of the best umbrella strollers for tall people.

Joovy Groove Ultralight In-Depth Review

Compact Yet Efficient

Have you ever seen those commercials with first-time parents packing everything imaginable for a day out with their baby? While we've all probably been there, sometimes less is indeed more. The Joovy Groove prioritizes lightness, minimal fuss, and provides just the essentials.

Example: This stroller folds easily for portability. On our recent road trip with seven people and limited storage, it fit compactly along with another stroller we had. It’s also effortless to carry in an airport thanks to its built-in carrying strap.

Generous Canopy

One feature I always scrutinize in strollers is the canopy size. Too many strollers have tiny canopies that offer little protection against sunlight or rain. The Joovy Groove excels in this aspect with its large, adjustable, and removable canopy, providing excellent coverage even in a full recline.

The fabric is somewhat water-resistant, allowing water to bead up on the surface. During our 8-day Florida trip, it rained daily. The baby stayed mostly dry under the canopy, and the parts that did get wet dried quickly.

This canopy also includes a peek-a-boo window, which is handy to check if your child is asleep without disturbing them.

Almost-Flat Recline

During outings, your baby or toddler will likely fall asleep at some point. Sleeping upright is uncomfortable for anyone, and the Joovy Groove’s near-flat recline and adjustable footrest make napping on the go easy and comfortable.

The only downside is that adjusting the recline requires both hands, making it slightly inconvenient compared to one-handed designs. However, the process is straightforward and efficient.

The company is the world’s premier baby stroller supplier. We offer a one-stop solution for all your stroller needs with highly-specialized staff ready to assist you in finding the perfect product.

Parent-Friendly Organizer

One delightful feature that sets the Groove apart from many similar-sized strollers is its parent organizer. It includes a zippered pocket for keys, phones, and other valuables, accessible even when the seat is fully reclined. There’s also a handy beverage holder.

Spacious Storage Basket

The Groove's storage basket is notably large, crucial for me as it comfortably holds my purse and a diaper bag.

Chid Comfort Features

The Joovy Groove's 5-point harness is easy to manage and ensures the shoulder straps remain secure until you intentionally detach them. Each part of the harness is fully adjustable for the perfect fit.
Additionally, the stroller features inner mesh pockets, offering children easy access to toys or sippy cups, ensuring they have their favorite items within reach.

Dad-Approved = Winner!

We love our Joovy Groove Ultralight, especially as a prime choice for taller individuals.

Options for Taller Individuals: Community Insights

While my partner and I recently embarked on stroller shopping, we noticed a glaring issue: few strollers cater to tall individuals with adjustable handrails. My partner is 6'7", and a comfortable pushing experience is crucial! The only adjustable models we've found so far include the City Elite ($400), Bugaboo Cameleon ($980), and Orbit ($900).

Has anyone come across other strollers with adjustable handlebars that are more budget-friendly than the City Elite? We’ve seen some with handlebars that move back and forth but are looking for options that specifically adjust upwards.

Thanks!
