Plastic Film Washing Lines

We offer one of the most robust and efficient turnkey solutions for plastic film recycling. Whether you’re handling polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), or other types of plastic films, our comprehensive plastic film washing lines will meet your requirements for converting loose or baled plastic film into valuable plastic pellets.

For more details, check out our floating tank washer for plastic recycling line.

This entirely automated washing and pelletizing line comprises a series of meticulously arranged plastic recycling machines. Standard washing lines come with an input capacity ranging from 500 kg/h up to 3,000 kg/h.

Though our standard PE film washing lines suffice for most recycling facilities, we also design custom setups with additional machinery and higher capacity tailored to specific requirements.

Working Principle

The whole plastic film washing line is managed via a central electric control panel and cabinet, with each piece of equipment connected through conveyors.

Plastic Shredder Machine: Large plastic film pieces are shredded into smaller fragments (approximately 1-5 inches) to prevent tangling and clogging during subsequent processes.

Wet Plastic Granulator: The granulator reduces the size further to about 10-20mm, simultaneously treating and partially cleaning the plastic film using water injected into the cutting chamber.

Friction Washer: This high-speed washer (nearly 1,000 rpm) cleans the film by rubbing it together, removing contamination, and breaking down paper and cardboard.

Sink Float Separation Tank: Utilizing water, it separates floating PP/PE films from heavier contaminants like dirt, sand, and metals. A screw conveyor removes the contaminants from the tank's bottom.

Centrifugal Dewatering Machine: This machine uses centrifugal force to remove most water from the film, making the process energy-efficient before thermal drying.

Screw Press Dewatering Machine: This optional advanced equipment squeezes water out through high pressure, potentially replacing both the centrifugal dewatering machine and thermal dryers.

Thermal Dryer + Cyclone Separator: The thermal dryer dehydrates the plastic film by mixing it with hot air; a cyclone separator then cools it and prepares it for storage in the product silo.

Product Silo: This is the storage tank for the clean, dry plastic film pieces.

Plastic Pelletizing Machine: The final step involves converting the clean film into plastic pellets using a water ring pelletizer system, which produces uniformly shaped pellets suitable for sale.
