Assistance Needed for Simple Solar Setup
Hello, since experiencing the impact of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, I have initiated a small solar project to continuously power a fan, TV, and Xbox. To date, I've acquired two 100W 12V solar panels (with plans to purchase two additional panels soon), a 30-amp charge controller, and two 100Ah deep cycle batteries. The TV consumes approximately 75 watts, the Xbox One S around 50 watts, and I estimate that the fan operates at about 100 watts on high.
Being a complete novice in solar energy, I am overwhelmed with the information regarding the necessary cables for my setup and thus felt compelled to reach out for assistance!
What cables do I need to connect the four 100W 12V panels in parallel? Additionally, which cables should I use to connect the panels to the charge controller? Is it essential to include a fuse between the panels and the controller? Moreover, what type of cables are appropriate for connecting the controller to the batteries? Lastly, how should I connect the batteries in parallel? I would greatly appreciate it if you could direct me to specific cables available on Amazon or eBay that you recommend!
