The SIG Kautex SB-8 suction blow molding machine showcased at NPE is designed for large technical parts like auto fuel tanks and containers up to 200-liter capacity; it was seen molding dual-durometer automotive components.
Sidel aimed to set a record for PET bottle production at NPE, targeting 3,000 bottles per hour per mold in a 20-mold (dual-cavity) Sidel SBO 20 DC system, summing to 60,000 bottles per hour. Sidel's SBO Series has cut blowing costs per bottle by 15% since introduction, with improvements like a new 18% lighter mold support, a U-shaped oven for footprint reduction, and air recovery systems reducing compressor needs. The system also offers single-cavity configurations for up to 3-liter containers and a 50-mm pitch oven for wide-mouth preforms. An HR kit supports hot-fill beverage packages. The former record of 53,000 bottles per hour was held by a Sidel operator in England. Sidel's dual-cavity machines, introduced a decade ago, now serve soft drink makers globally, with 43 machines currently in operation.
